Travels

The easiest of travels are the ones you don’t have to leave home for, the ones that don’t travel any further than the safe boundaries of your imagination. The best of travels are those you start reluctantly, without great excitement or the urge to leave.  Those travels turn out to be unexpectedly good. Unexpectedly. Because you had no expectations or because the expectations you had were false? To what extent do they influence your perception of reality?

Traveling or leaving places makes you appreciate home, if you’re a melancholic type of person. It opens your eyes to small things around you, which suddenly seem more meaningful just because you’re leaving them for a while or forever. You could have given them the attention they deserved but by the time you realize, it’s too late.  We should trick ourselves, by making us believe we’re going some place far away, just to be more attentive in daily life.
